Is it normal to be alone?
Depends.It depends
Yes—spending time alone is normal, and plenty of people enjoy it. If you mean feeling lonely or cut off when you don’t want to be, that can be hard, and you deserve support and connection.
Being by yourself isn’t automatically a problem. Some people need lots of solo time to recharge; others feel best with company. Your social needs can also change depending on what’s going on in your life.
The key difference is whether being alone feels chosen and comfortable, or unwanted and painful. If you’re feeling isolated, even a small reach-out—to someone you trust, or to a group or activity you enjoy—can be a start. You don’t have to be surrounded by people to be doing life right.
