Is it normal to be lonely at 21?
Yes, it’s normal to feel lonely at 21, even if it seems like everyone else has a full social life. Being lonely doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you or that it will always feel this way.
Your early twenties can be a surprisingly lonely stretch: friendships shift, people move or get busy, and you may be figuring out who you are and where you fit. It can look from the outside like everyone else has found their people, but plenty of people feel disconnected and don’t say so out loud.
If you want more connection, try making it a little more routine: invite someone for a walk, join something that meets regularly, or reconnect with a person you’ve drifted from. You don’t have to build a huge social circle overnight; one or two genuine connections can make a real difference.
