Is it normal to be obsessed with God?
Thinking about God a lot or feeling deeply devoted can be a normal part of your faith. It’s worth paying attention if the thoughts feel frightening or uncontrollable, or keep you from living your life.
If you mean that faith is a big part of your day, you pray often, or you feel close to God, that’s a familiar and meaningful experience for many people. People relate to religion in different ways, and there isn’t one “normal” amount of devotion.
It may be less comfortable if thoughts about God feel intrusive, bring constant fear or guilt, or lead you to rituals you feel unable to stop. If that’s affecting your sleep, relationships, or daily life, you could talk with someone you trust—such as a faith leader or a mental health professional who respects your beliefs.
