Is it normal to be obsessed with your friend?
It’s normal to feel intensely attached to a friend or think about them a lot, especially if you have a crush or they’re important to you. It’s worth paying attention if the fixation is taking over your life or pushing you to ignore their boundaries.
A close friendship, a crush, loneliness, or a big change in your life can make one person feel like the center of your whole world. Lots of people go through a phase of replaying conversations, wanting to spend loads of time together, or wondering what every little thing means.
The useful distinction is whether it still feels manageable and mutual. If you’re constantly checking up on them, feeling panicked when they don’t reply, or pressuring them for attention, give them space and make room for other people and parts of your life. The feeling itself isn’t wrong; respecting their boundaries matters.
