Is it normal to be scared of Jesus coming back?
Yes, it’s understandable to feel scared about Jesus coming back, especially if you’ve heard frightening descriptions of it or aren’t sure what to believe. People have different beliefs about it, and feeling afraid doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.
A lot can shape this fear: religious teachings, stories about the end of the world, uncertainty, or worries about what would happen to you or people you love. Some people find the idea comforting; others find it unsettling, and plenty feel mixed about it.
You don’t have to settle every question about faith to talk about the fear. It may help to share what’s worrying you with someone kind and trustworthy—religious or not—who won’t shame or scare you. If the fear is taking over your sleep or daily life, a counselor can help you work through it without telling you what to believe.
