Is it normal to be so lonely?
Yes, feeling lonely is common, even when you have people around you. It doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you, though it can be a sign you’re missing the kind of connection you need.
Loneliness happens to lots of people, and it can show up during a life change, when friendships feel shallow, or even when you’re surrounded by others but don’t feel understood. There’s no minimum number of friends you’re supposed to have to “count” as connected.
If you want to shift it, try one small point of contact—a message to someone you like, a regular group or activity, or an honest “I’ve been feeling a bit isolated; want to hang out?” It may feel awkward, but you don’t have to fix your whole social life in one go.
If the loneliness has been weighing on you for a long time, talking it through with someone you trust can help. You deserve connection, not a lecture about being more social.
