Is it normal to cry during meditation?
Yep.Totally normal
Yes, crying during meditation is normal. Quieting down can bring feelings to the surface, even when you weren’t expecting them.
Meditation gives you fewer distractions, so emotions you’ve been carrying around can suddenly get your attention. You might cry from sadness, relief, stress, or simply because your body is relaxing. Sometimes there’s no obvious reason at all.
Lots of people have this happen, and it doesn’t mean you’re meditating wrong or that something is wrong with you. You can let the tears come, take a break, or switch to a gentler practice if it feels like too much. If it keeps leaving you overwhelmed, it’s okay to talk it through with someone you trust.
