Is it normal to feel resentful during pregnancy?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, resentment can come up during pregnancy, even when you’re happy about the baby or love your partner. It doesn’t make you a bad person; pregnancy can bring real physical strain and big changes to your life.
Pregnancy can involve discomfort, exhaustion, worry, and a sudden sense that your body or future isn’t entirely your own. You might resent your partner, the pregnancy, or the expectations around it—and then feel guilty for having that reaction. Mixed feelings are allowed; they don’t tell you how much you’ll love your child.
If the resentment feels constant or is making it hard to cope, tell someone you trust or bring it up with your prenatal care provider. You deserve support, not a lecture about being grateful.
