Is it normal to fight before getting married?
Occasional arguments before a wedding are common, especially with planning stress and big life decisions in the mix. The bigger question is whether you can work through disagreements respectfully, rather than how often you disagree.
Wedding planning can bring up money, family expectations, where you’ll live, and a whole parade of tiny decisions that somehow become emotionally loaded. It’s normal to argue sometimes while figuring out how you’ll handle life together.
Pay attention to the pattern, not just the fact that you fought. If arguments keep circling the same unresolved issues, turn cruel or controlling, or leave either of you afraid, that’s worth taking seriously—not something to brush off as wedding stress. Being able to talk, repair things, and make decisions as a team matters more than having a fight-free engagement.
