Is it normal to fight in a relationship every week?

Depends.It depends

Having disagreements every week isn’t automatically a sign your relationship is doomed, but frequent, intense fights that never get resolved are worth paying attention to. What matters is whether you can talk things through and still feel respected and safe.

Lots of couples disagree regularly, especially when life is stressful or you have different ways of communicating. A disagreement isn’t necessarily a “fight,” though—and if the same argument keeps coming back without anything changing, the frequency may be a sign that something needs attention.

Notice how you fight: Can you both speak without insults, threats, or intimidation? Do you calm down, listen, and make repairs afterward? If you’re walking on eggshells, feeling afraid, or leaving every argument more hurt than heard, that’s more concerning than a weekly difference of opinion. A calmer conversation outside the heat of the moment—or help from a couples counselor—can make it easier to break the pattern.
