Is it normal to fight leading up to a wedding?
Yes, some arguments are common before a wedding: planning, money, family expectations, and stress can put you both on edge. But constant or frightening fights are worth taking seriously, not brushing off as wedding stress.
Wedding planning can turn a lot of small decisions into big emotional ones, especially when money, relatives, or competing expectations are involved. Plenty of couples bicker during the run-up, and it doesn’t automatically mean you shouldn’t get married.
What matters is how you handle the disagreements. If you can cool down, listen, and work things out, it may just be a stressful season. If the fights are constant, involve insults or threats, or leave you feeling scared or pressured, pause and talk honestly about what’s going on before the wedding.
