Is it normal to hate the toddler stage?

Mostly.Normal for most people

Yes, it’s normal to dislike the toddler stage, even when you love your child. Toddlers can be exhausting, and finding this phase hard doesn’t make you a bad parent.

Toddlers are wonderful in flashes—and relentless in between. Big feelings, constant supervision, repeated negotiations over tiny things, and very little personal space can make this stage feel like a grind. Plenty of parents love their kid and still don’t enjoy this age much.

You don’t have to pretend it’s magical. It can help to trade off with another adult, lower the bar on nonessential tasks, and make room for small breaks where you can. If the frustration feels constant or you’re worried you might lose control, tell someone you trust and get support—you deserve help, too.
