Is it normal to have a crush on your mom?
Unusual.Less common, but harmless
It’s less common than having a crush on someone outside your family, but confusing feelings can happen. Having a feeling doesn’t make you a bad person; what matters is keeping appropriate boundaries.
A “crush” can mean anything from intense admiration and wanting closeness to romantic or sexual attraction, so it may help to notice what you mean by it. Feelings can be confusing, and you don’t have to act on them or treat them as a choice you made.
Because she’s your mom, keep the relationship within normal parent-child boundaries. If the feelings are upsetting, taking over your thoughts, or making it hard to relate to her comfortably, talking them through with a therapist can help without judgment.
