Is it normal to have extra skin down there?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes—genital skin naturally comes in folds and varies a lot, so it can look like there’s “extra” skin. If it’s new, changing, painful, itchy, or bleeding, get it checked.
If you mean the genital area, folds and loose-looking skin are common. Labia can stick out past the outer folds, scrotal skin is naturally wrinkled, and skin around the anus can also have folds or small tags. Bodies aren’t all built to look the same, and “extra” doesn’t automatically mean anything is wrong.
If this is a new change, or the area is painful, itchy, bleeding, or growing quickly, it’s worth having a healthcare professional take a look.
