Is it normal to have no libido while breastfeeding?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes—having little or no interest in sex while breastfeeding is common. Hormone changes, exhaustion, and the demands of caring for a baby can all play a part.
Breastfeeding can lower estrogen, which may reduce your sex drive and cause vaginal dryness. Add sleep deprivation, physical recovery, and being touched all day, and it makes sense if sex is nowhere near the top of your list.
There’s no required timeline for your libido to return, and people’s experiences vary. If you want intimacy, taking pressure off sex and talking with your partner about what feels good can help. If the change worries you, or comes with pain or persistent low mood, bring it up with your healthcare provider.
