Is it normal to kiss your dog on the lips?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, plenty of people kiss their dogs on the lips as a sign of affection, though others find it gross. It’s affectionate, but there can be some germ-sharing involved, so face kisses aren’t the cleanest habit.
Lots of people do it, and lots of other people draw the line at a dog’s mouth. If it feels sweet to you and your dog seems comfortable, it’s a pretty ordinary bit of pet affection—not a sign that anything’s wrong with you.
That said, dogs’ mouths can carry germs, so it’s sensible to skip lip kisses if you have cuts or sores, and to avoid letting your dog lick your eyes or mouth. A quick cuddle or kiss on the head is a lower-germ alternative.
