Is it normal to not be able to cry?
Depends.It depends
Yes, it can be normal to have trouble crying, even when you feel sad or overwhelmed. Not crying doesn’t mean you don’t care or aren’t affected.
People vary a lot in how they show emotion. Stress, feeling numb or worn down, what you learned about showing feelings, and some medications can all make tears harder to come by. Sometimes the feelings are there, but crying just isn’t how they come out.
If this is a change for you, or it’s bothering you, it may help to notice what else is going on emotionally rather than trying to force tears. If you mean your eyes literally can’t make tears, especially with dryness, irritation, or pain, get that checked.
