Is it normal to poop during labor?
Yep.Totally normal
Yes, pooping during labor is normal and pretty common, especially while you’re pushing. It happens because the same muscles and pressure involved in pushing a baby can also move stool out.
During the pushing stage, your baby presses on your rectum, and you’re using many of the same muscles you’d use to poop. So it can happen—even if you emptied your bowels earlier—and it doesn’t mean anything is wrong.
The delivery team has seen it plenty of times. They’ll discreetly clean it up and keep caring for you; it’s just one of those very human parts of giving birth, not something you need to feel embarrassed about.
