Is it normal to stalk your ex?
It’s common to keep checking an ex’s social media after a breakup, but following them, showing up unexpectedly, or repeatedly contacting them when they don’t want contact crosses a serious boundary. If that’s what you mean, stop and give them space.
If by “stalk” you mean looking at your ex’s public posts or wondering what they’re up to, plenty of people do that after a breakup. It can keep you stuck, though, so muting or blocking them for a while may make moving on easier.
If you’re tracking where they go, showing up uninvited, or continuing to contact them after they’ve asked you to stop, that isn’t harmless breakup behavior. Respect their boundaries, stop the contact, and ask someone you trust for help sticking to that plan if you’re finding it hard.
