Is it normal to stalk your ex on social media?
It’s common to check an ex’s social media after a breakup, especially when you’re still curious or hurting. If it’s constant, upsetting, or turns into unwanted contact or tracking, it’s worth stepping back and setting firmer boundaries.
A quick peek at your ex’s profile is pretty common. Breakups leave you curious, and social media makes it easy to check what they’re up to. You’re not automatically a creep for looking once in a while.
The key is what “stalking” means here: repeatedly checking their accounts, using fake profiles, tracking where they are, or contacting them after they’ve asked you not to crosses a line. Even if you’re only looking, if it keeps reopening the wound, muting or blocking them for a while can make moving on a lot easier.
