Is it normal to want to break up with your boyfriend during your period?
Yes, it can be normal for your feelings about the relationship to feel more intense around your period. That doesn’t automatically mean the relationship is wrong, but recurring doubts are worth listening to when you’re feeling steadier, too.
Hormonal shifts, cramps, poor sleep, and generally feeling crummy can make irritation or relationship doubts feel much louder. Lots of people notice their mood or patience changing around their period, and sometimes that includes wanting space—or wanting to end things.
If the feeling tends to show up at the same point in your cycle and ease afterward, you might wait until you feel more like yourself before making a big decision. But don’t automatically write it off as hormones: if you keep wanting to break up at other times too, or there are real problems in the relationship, those feelings deserve attention.
