Is it normal to argue a lot in a relationship?
Arguments are common in relationships, but fighting a lot can be a sign that something needs attention. What matters is whether you can disagree safely, listen to each other, and repair things afterward.
Most couples argue sometimes, especially when they’re stressed or have different needs. A disagreement now and then doesn’t mean the relationship is in trouble; being able to cool off, talk it through, and make up matters more than never fighting.
If you’re arguing constantly about the same things, or fights involve insults, threats, intimidation, or making you feel afraid, that’s more concerning than ordinary conflict. It may help to talk when you’re both calm, focus on one issue at a time, and consider couples counseling if you both feel safe and willing.
