Is it normal to argue every week?
Some couples argue every week, but how you argue matters more than how often. If disagreements feel respectful and get resolved, it may just be your pattern; if they leave you feeling afraid, worn down, or stuck, that’s worth taking seriously.
Weekly arguments aren’t automatically a sign that a relationship is doomed. Couples can have recurring disagreements, especially when they’re stressed or haven’t found a good way to talk through certain issues. People differ: some see frequent bickering as ordinary, while others find it exhausting even when nobody’s being cruel.
Pay attention to the pattern more than the calendar. Can you both speak without insults or threats, listen, and make up or solve something afterward? If every argument turns into the same fight, or you feel scared, controlled, or constantly on edge, that’s not something you have to brush off. A calm conversation—or support from a couples counselor—may help if you both feel safe doing that.
