Is it normal to argue in the talking stage?
A disagreement or awkward miscommunication can happen while you’re getting to know someone. But if you’re arguing often or already feel drained, that may be a sign you’re not a great fit.
A little friction in the talking stage isn’t unusual: you’re still learning how each other communicates, and texts can make small misunderstandings bigger. People also have different expectations about how often to talk, what counts as flirting, and where things are headed.
What matters is how the arguments go and how often they happen. If you can talk things through respectfully and both feel heard, it may just be a bump. If it’s already a pattern of insults, jealousy, pressure, or exhausting back-and-forth, you don’t have to keep pushing just because you haven’t officially started dating.
