Is it normal to argue with yourself?

Yep.Totally normal

Yes. Plenty of people debate things with themselves, either silently or out loud—it can be a way to sort through feelings, test ideas, or rehearse a conversation.

It’s pretty normal to have an inner back-and-forth, including one side of you making a case while another pushes back. Some people do it quietly in their head; others talk out loud when they’re thinking something through. Your brain is basically holding a meeting, and sometimes nobody agrees on the agenda.

It’s worth paying attention if the experience feels frightening or completely out of your control, or if it’s disrupting your life. But ordinary self-arguments—even the occasional out-loud one—aren’t automatically a sign that anything is wrong.
