Is it normal to be attracted to a specific race?
It’s common for your attraction to have patterns, including around race. What matters is treating people as individuals rather than assuming their personality or value based on their race.
You don’t fully choose who catches your eye, and having a pattern in who you’re attracted to doesn’t automatically mean anything is wrong with you. People’s preferences can be shaped by their experiences, surroundings, and the images they’ve seen growing up.
The useful distinction is between being drawn to someone and treating their race like a personality trait or a requirement. If you’re assuming people will act a certain way because of their race, or you’re interested in them mainly as a stereotype or novelty, that’s worth reflecting on. A person is more than a category, and they may not want to be treated like someone’s “type.”
