Is it normal to not be attracted to a certain race?
You can have patterns in who you’re attracted to, and you don’t owe anyone attraction. But a blanket rule about an entire race can be worth examining, since ideas about beauty are shaped by culture and experience.
Attraction isn’t something you can switch on by willpower, and nobody is entitled to your interest. Lots of people notice patterns in who catches their eye, whether that’s about appearance, culture, or familiarity.
Still, writing off an entire race is different from not being into a particular person. It may be worth asking yourself where that rule came from—your experiences, the media you grew up with, or stereotypes you’ve absorbed—without beating yourself up or forcing attraction. Whatever your preferences, you can express them without putting down a whole group of people.
