Yes, it’s pretty normal to feel a little jealous when a cat gets all the attention or affection you’re craving. The feeling isn’t a problem by itself; what matters is how you handle it.
If someone you care about gives their cat loads of cuddles, attention, or special treatment, it can poke at a very human feeling: “Hey, what about me?” You might also feel left out if the cat seems to prefer them—or, unfairly, the cat gets to nap all day and still be adored.
Lots of people have a brief, silly pang of pet jealousy, and most can laugh about it. If it’s really bothering you, ask for the attention or time you want instead of treating the cat like a rival. The cat has no idea there’s a love triangle.
