Is it normal to be obsessed with a person?
Getting intensely fixated on someone can happen, especially during a crush or an uncertain relationship. It’s worth paying attention if the thoughts take over your day or push you to ignore their boundaries.
A person can get stuck in your thoughts when you’re attracted to them, longing for their attention, or unsure how they feel about you. Lots of people have had a crush that takes up way too much mental real estate; it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you.
The line to watch is whether it’s disrupting your sleep, work, or other relationships—or leading you to repeatedly contact, track, or pressure them. Your feelings can be intense, but their privacy and boundaries still matter. If the fixation is making you miserable, creating distance from reminders and talking it through with someone you trust can help.
