Is it normal to be obsessed with people?
Getting intensely interested in someone or thinking about them a lot can be normal, especially with a crush or new connection. It’s worth paying attention if the thoughts feel uncontrollable, disrupt your life, or lead you to cross their boundaries.
Lots of people get temporarily fixated on someone they admire, have a crush on, or are trying to understand. Your brain can replay conversations and daydream about them without it meaning anything is wrong with you.
The useful line is whether it’s still just thoughts or starting to take over. If you can’t focus on other parts of life, feel distressed, or find yourself monitoring or contacting someone in ways they haven’t welcomed, take a step back and protect both your space and theirs. Feelings happen; respecting boundaries is the part you’re responsible for.
