Is it normal to be obsessed with the person you love?
It’s common to think about someone you love a lot, especially when feelings are new or intense. It’s worth a closer look if the thoughts take over your life or push you to ignore their boundaries.
Love can make your brain replay conversations, daydream, and want lots of closeness. Plenty of people go through an intense, all-consuming phase; “obsessed” is often just a dramatic word for being really smitten.
The key is how it affects you and how you treat the other person. If you can still focus on your own life and respect their privacy and boundaries, it’s usually nothing to worry about. If the fixation is causing serious distress, disrupting daily life, or leading you to monitor or pressure them, talk it through with someone you trust or a mental health professional.
