Is it normal to be obsessed with your kids?
If you mean you adore your kids and think about them constantly, that’s a very common part of being a parent. If the intensity leaves no room for your own life or makes it hard to respect their growing independence, it may be worth looking at what’s driving it.
Parents often use “obsessed” to mean completely smitten: you love being around your kids, want to talk about them, and worry about them when they’re away. That kind of intense attachment is common, even if not every parent experiences it the same way.
The line to watch is whether it becomes overwhelming or controlling—like you can’t tolerate time apart, feel compelled to monitor every move, or struggle to let them have age-appropriate privacy and independence. Loving them fiercely is fine; they still need room to be their own people.
