Is it normal to be obsessed with yourself?
It’s normal to think about yourself a lot sometimes, especially when you’re figuring things out or going through a big change. It’s worth paying attention if it regularly hurts your relationships or makes it hard to care about other people’s needs.
A lot of people get intensely focused on themselves now and then—how they look, how they’re doing, or what others think of them. That doesn’t automatically mean you’re selfish or that anything is wrong with you.
The useful question is whether the self-focus leaves room for other people. If you can listen, show interest, and own your mistakes, you’re probably just in a self-focused phase. If it’s causing repeated conflict or distress, noticing that pattern and talking it through with someone you trust can help.
