Is it normal to be scared of labor?
Yep.Totally normal
Yes, it’s completely normal to feel scared of labor. Childbirth is a big, unfamiliar experience, and hearing other people’s stories can make the fear feel even bigger.
You don’t have to be excited about labor—or feel calm about it—to be ready to become a parent. People worry about pain, losing control, complications, or simply not knowing what will happen. Plenty of expectant parents feel some version of that, even when they’re also looking forward to meeting the baby.
It may help to tell your doctor or midwife what specifically scares you; they can talk through pain-relief options and what to expect. You’re allowed to ask the same question more than once and make a birth plan that feels reassuring to you.
