Is it normal to be scared of the dark?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, being scared of the dark is common, and it can happen at any age. Darkness makes it harder to see what’s around you, which can give your imagination extra room to work.
Lots of people feel uneasy in the dark, especially when they’re alone, somewhere unfamiliar, or trying to fall asleep. It doesn’t mean you’re childish or that anything is wrong with you.
A night-light, a familiar bedtime routine, or slowly getting more comfortable with dimmer rooms can help if you’d like. And if the fear isn’t bothering you, you don’t have to make it into a project—plenty of people simply prefer the lights on.
