Is it normal to be touch-starved?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, feeling touch-starved is normal. People can miss safe, wanted physical affection, especially when they’re lonely or going through a stretch with little comforting contact.
Lots of people miss hugs, cuddling, hand-holding, or other gentle touch when they’re not getting much of it. It can feel especially noticeable during isolation, a breakup, or a period when your usual sources of affection have changed. That doesn’t mean you’re needy or that you have to be in a relationship.
People vary a lot in how much touch they enjoy, so there’s no one “right” amount. If you want more, you could ask someone you trust for a hug or look for other comfortable, consensual ways to get connection. And if touch isn’t something you want, that’s normal too.
