Is it normal to dislike a child?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, it’s normal not to like every child—or to find one child’s behavior especially irritating. What matters is treating them kindly and fairly, even when you don’t enjoy being around them.
You’re not required to feel fond of every kid. Sometimes a child’s personality or behavior rubs you the wrong way, or you simply don’t click. That doesn’t make you a bad person; feelings aren’t the same as actions.
Keep your response respectful: set reasonable boundaries, avoid taking irritation out on them, and let their parent or caregiver handle discipline. If you’re responsible for a child and find yourself regularly feeling overwhelmed or worried you might lash out, ask someone you trust for support and a break.
