Is it normal to feel lonely despite having friends?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes. You can have friends and still feel lonely if you’re missing closeness, understanding, or the kind of connection you need.
Having friends doesn’t automatically mean you feel known or emotionally close to them. You might enjoy their company but still feel like you’re keeping parts of yourself hidden, or you may simply want more one-on-one time and deeper conversations. Life changes, busy schedules, and feeling out of sync can add to it, too.
Lots of people feel lonely at times, even when they have a social circle. It doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful or that your friendships are fake. If you want, try telling a friend you’ve been feeling a little disconnected and suggest spending time together in a way that feels more meaningful to you.
