Is it normal to fight a lot before the wedding?
Some arguing before a wedding is common, since planning can bring stress and family pressures to the surface. But constant, hurtful fights or serious doubts about the relationship deserve attention—not just a shrug and a seating chart.
Wedding planning can turn small disagreements into big ones: money, family expectations, guest lists, and the feeling that every choice is suddenly loaded. Lots of couples bicker more than usual during this stretch, and a disagreement by itself doesn’t mean you’re a bad match.
The bigger clue is how you fight and what happens afterward. If you can listen, repair things, and make decisions together, it may be ordinary stress. If fights are relentless, cruel, frightening, or about major differences you’ve been avoiding, pause and talk it through before the wedding rather than hoping the day will fix it.
