Is it normal to fight every month in a relationship?
Having a disagreement every month can be normal; what matters more is how you fight and whether you can repair things afterward. If the same conflict keeps repeating or fights leave either of you feeling afraid or belittled, that’s worth taking seriously.
Couples can have recurring disagreements, and a monthly argument by itself doesn’t mean your relationship is in trouble. People differ in how often they clash, and some disagreements are just part of figuring out life together.
Pay attention to the pattern: Can you both speak respectfully, listen, and make up? Or do the fights keep circling the same issue, turn into insults or threats, or leave one of you walking on eggshells? The second pattern is a sign something needs attention, even if the fights aren’t frequent.
A calm conversation about what keeps setting things off can help. If you can’t get unstuck together, a couples counselor may help you work through it.
