Is it normal to fight every week with your partner?
Weekly arguments happen in some relationships, but the frequency alone doesn’t tell you whether things are okay. What matters is whether you can disagree safely, make up, and actually work through what’s causing the fights.
Some couples argue more often than others, especially during stressful stretches or when they have different habits and expectations. A weekly disagreement isn’t automatically a sign that your relationship is doomed—though fighting every week can get exhausting, and it’s worth noticing whether the same issue keeps coming back without changing.
Pay attention to how you fight: Can you both speak without insults, threats, or intimidation? Do you feel heard, and can you repair things afterward? If one of you feels afraid, controlled, or constantly put down, that’s more concerning than the number of arguments. If the pattern is wearing you down, a calm conversation outside the heat of a fight—or couples counseling—may help.
