Is it normal to fight with your partner often?
Disagreements are normal, but frequent fights that keep escalating or never get resolved can wear down a relationship. What matters is whether you can talk, repair things, and feel safe with each other.
Most couples argue sometimes, especially when they’re stressed or dealing with recurring differences. If you can disagree without insults or intimidation, listen to each other, and make up or find a way forward, the occasional rough patch doesn’t mean your relationship is broken.
If you’re fighting over and over about the same things, feel tense around each other, or leave every argument feeling hurt and unheard, it’s worth taking that pattern seriously. A calmer conversation outside the heat of an argument—or help from a couples counselor—can make it easier to see what needs to change.
Fights involving threats, controlling behavior, or fear aren’t just ordinary couple conflict; your safety comes first.
