Is it normal to hate every job?
It’s common to dislike parts of work, and some people go through several jobs that feel wrong. If every job feels unbearable, it may be worth looking for a pattern in the work itself, the workplace, or how worn down you are.
Plenty of people don’t love their jobs; work can be repetitive, stressful, or simply something you do to pay the bills. And if you’ve had a run of bad bosses or poor-fit roles, it can start to feel like the problem is every job.
Still, it may help to notice what you hate most: the tasks, the schedule, dealing with people, lack of control, or the whole idea of working. That can point toward a different kind of role—or a need for rest or better boundaries—rather than proof that you’re doomed to hate working forever.
If the dread is taking over your life or you feel miserable outside work too, talking it through with someone you trust or a counselor could help. You don’t have to turn “find your passion” into another job.
