Is it normal to hate kids as a teen?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes, it’s normal for a teenager to find younger kids annoying or not enjoy being around them. You don’t have to love kids, though it’s still important to treat them kindly.
Lots of teens would rather hang out with people their own age than deal with little kids’ noise, questions, or need for attention. “Hate” may just be the blunt way you describe being irritated or not wanting to babysit—and you’re allowed to feel that way.
The important difference is between having a feeling and how you treat someone. You can keep some distance, say no to babysitting when you can, and still be respectful. If your anger feels so intense that you’re worried you might hurt a child, tell a trusted adult and get some support.
