Is it normal to keep swallowing?
Mostly.Normal for most people
Yes—swallowing saliva throughout the day is normal, and noticing it more can happen when you’re anxious or your mouth or throat feels dry. If it’s a new, persistent urge or you’re having trouble swallowing, it’s worth getting checked.
You swallow automatically all day to clear saliva, even when you’re not eating. Sometimes you become unusually aware of it, or swallow more because of a dry mouth, throat irritation, postnasal drip, reflux, or nerves. Annoying, but not automatically a sign that anything is wrong.
If you mean you can’t swallow normally, or it comes with pain, choking, or a feeling that food is getting stuck, check in with a healthcare professional—especially if it keeps happening.
