Is it normal to like one child more?

Depends.It depends

It’s normal to feel more in sync with one child at times, but consistently favoring one or letting the children see it can hurt them. Feelings aren’t the same as how you treat them.

You may have an easier time relating to one child, or feel closer during a particular stage of their life. That doesn’t automatically mean you love the other child less, and plenty of parents have complicated, shifting feelings about their kids.

What matters is how you act on those feelings. Try to give each child attention and affection in ways that work for them, and avoid comparisons or making one child the obvious favorite. If you’re feeling persistently resentful or disconnected from one child, it may help to talk it through with someone you trust.
