Is it normal to lose keratin bonds?

Depends.It depends

Losing an occasional keratin-bond extension can happen, especially as it wears or slips. Losing several soon after installation, or losing them with lots of your own hair attached, is worth checking with your stylist.

A bond can loosen from washing, brushing, products, or everyday wear. And because shed hairs can get caught in the extensions, a fallen bond may have more hair attached than you’d expect—that doesn’t automatically mean you’re losing hair abnormally.

A few over time is one thing; a bunch falling out soon after installation, or bonds that feel painful, pull, or leave noticeable thinning, isn’t something to just shrug off. Ask your stylist to check the installation and show you how to care for them; don’t pull or try to remove stubborn bonds yourself.
