Is it normal to not want to go to work every day?
Yes—lots of people would rather stay home than go to work on a given day, even if they’re basically okay with their job. If you dread work constantly, though, it may be a sign that something about the job or your workload needs attention.
Absolutely. Work can be tiring, repetitive, stressful, or simply less appealing than doing literally anything else, so a daily flash of “ugh, do I have to?” is very familiar to a lot of people. It doesn’t automatically mean you’re lazy or in the wrong career.
The difference is how strong and lasting the feeling is. If it’s mostly ordinary reluctance that lifts once you get going, that’s pretty normal. If you’re regularly dreading the day, feeling worn down, or finding that work is taking over your mood outside work hours, it’s worth looking at what’s driving it—like workload, your manager, the hours, or a bigger mismatch—and whether anything could change.
