Is it normal to regret moving?
Yes, it’s normal to regret moving, especially while you’re adjusting to a new place and missing what was familiar. Those feelings don’t automatically mean you made the wrong choice.
Moving can shake up your routines, friendships, and sense of home all at once. Even a move you chose and wanted can bring homesickness, stress, or a “what have I done?” phase—especially when the exciting parts wear off and the boxes are still everywhere.
Give yourself a little time to settle in, while also noticing what’s behind the regret. Missing familiar people is different from realizing the new location or living situation genuinely isn’t working for you. Either way, you’re allowed to reassess; you don’t have to prove the move was right just because you made it.
