Is it normal to talk to fictional characters in your head?

Yep.Totally normal

Yes. Imagining conversations with fictional characters is a normal part of having an active imagination or inner monologue.

Lots of people mentally talk with characters from books, shows, or games—replaying scenes, imagining what a character would say, or using them as a sounding board. It can be a fun creative habit, and it doesn’t mean you’re confused about what’s real.

If you mean you hear them as if they’re coming from outside your mind, or the experience feels frightening, uncontrollable, or disruptive, that’s different and worth talking through with a mental health professional.
